My Story

Hello! My name is Olivia and I have been grooming and training dogs for Tried and True Aussies for many years and as a business for the past few years now. My family has been raising dogs since I was four and I have loved them for my whole life. My first dog that I got to take care of was Roo who I got to raise from a puppy to be a part of our breeding program. She was such a sweet little girl and she loved to please people. Roo came into my life at around age 10 and I had a blast teaching her tricks and all the fun things. She taught me so much about training dogs and I am so grateful that I had the pleasure of working with her. She has now retired from our breeding program and went to live as a pet where she is enjoying her retirement and living her best life, off on fun adventures!

Ava joined our family at one and a half years old and she and I bonded immediately. That girl taught me so much about grooming dogs and she was my main grooming client as she had so much hair! Ava was such a special girl and she was brilliant! She was literally the best dog and she was always trying to make you happy. Ava already had the basic training when she came to us so I had so much fun taking her further in her training and we even did some agility where she was a star.I recently lost Ava to cancer and it has been so hard. I miss her every day, but I am so grateful for the time that I had with her and for how much she taught me.

Scout came to our family at 4 months old and as he was a puppy and in need of training I just started working with him and the rest is history. He is an energetic goofball that loves people and snuggles! Scout has taught me how much fun can be had in training and how to take joy in every moment even the hard ones. Scout loves to go for runs and he has much more endurance than me, haha! I have loved working with my boy, and Scout and I are both still learning so much together.

Maple is my first official dog, as my other dogs were technically my parents’ dogs. As I was starting my training career I was looking to raise a puppy to further my training. So in my searching I came across Maple and it was truly love at first sight. Maple has helped me to grow so much in my training and we both have learned so much over the course of our journey together. Maple is a happy girl and she is like a little ray of sunshine to my life. Maple is the first dog that I have taken to a training class for socialization and I saw how important it is for your dog to get used to working around other dogs, as Maple was not very comfortable with this at first. It gave me the inspiration to start offering classes that use full positive reinforcement as the class that I took still used some compulsion. This is why I came up with the idea to offer a puppy training class that teaches people how to train using positive reinforcement. I look forward to continuing Maple’s training and I can’t wait to see where we will go in the future!
